Biblioteca Publico, our local library, Insurgentes #25, desires to increase its membership. They've enlisted Your VIP Club for help. Buy or renew your VIP Club Membership, and Your VIP Club will pay for your renewal or new library card! You'll get a year's worth of savings and a new library card to boot, both good for one full year at once price $400 pesos! This offer is valid until February 28, 2009. The offer is valid only at the library! 

VIP Club Member Christine Conway, owner of the The Cutting Garden, Codo #4, 154-9130, continues, on Thursdays only, from now until the end of February. Christine will give VIP Club members 20% off her regular rates.

Now Showing: VIP Club member Stefanie Glick is debuting her original stage play: "The Death of Reason" at Santa Ana Theater, inside Biblioteca Publica January 14-18, 8 pm nightly, 6 pm for the Sunday performance. (break a leg)

VIP Club participating restaurant, Market Bistro, Hernandez Macias #95 invites all to their new Barbecue Buffet, Sundays 1-7 pm. They'll offer a variety of appetizers: grilled rabbit, chorizo, lamb chops, and much more! The price: $150 pesos also includes a free Margarita or Sangria. Hot Salsa! 8 p.m., with "Frank Bravo and Son Soneros," Wednesday, January 21 at VIP Club participating restaurant, Mi Casa Restaurant, inside Instituto Allende, $100 peso cover. 

VIP Club participating restaurant La Fonda Rosa/Mexican Kitchen, San Antonio Abad #17, invites all members for cocktails on Friday, January 23, 6 p.m., a reception and art opening, Linda Soberman. Also from the 27th until January 30 La Fonda Rosa will present dinner and classic Italian cinema.

Romanos Restaurant, Hernandez Macias #93, has some major-league, big-time, downtown exciting entertainment news to share with members to go along with Romanos' good eating, Friday night, January 23, 9 pm. Romanos presents: George Worthmore, diversified and extraordinary guitarist making a special performance. George is a big timer, so if any are into guitar Romanos is the place to be, $100 peso cover. Members remember what has become one of San Miguel's very best fund raisers that's now the 3rd Annual International Chjili Cook-off, 2009, taking place Saturday, January 24, Noon- 6 p.m. at Hotel Real de MInas. Great music, family entertainment, children under 12 free, international and local chili cooks, door prizes, great food and drink. Tickets $80 pesos (cheap) get tickets in advance at Nirvana's, Romanos, Casa Maxwell, Longhorn Smokehouse and up on the Jardin, benefitting: Centro de Crecimiento, (Rehabilitation, Education and Training for Children with Disabilities.) (It's a great cause.)
