     Despite the writing of, producing and directing material for the stage in the past, Your's Truly, makes his (gulp) acting debut in "JAZZ: Portraits of Musicians" inside Biblioteca's Santa Ana Theater, this Thursday night for one night only, July 12, for two shows at 7 and 9 p.m. Supposedly there will be buckets of rotten eggs and tomatoes on hand out front for anyone who might want to encourage me for future productions. The show, directed by Elena Shoemaker, will feature fabulous saxophone playing by Claude Lawrence along with acted out vignettes by the cast that showcase the lives of past Jazz greats. Ticket price: $100 pesos.

     VIP participating business, Art Print, San Francisco #11 presents Lejano Adentro for Phillipe Perrin with an exhibition and inauguration of Photos, Friday, July 13 at 7 p.m.

     VIP participating restaurant, Romanos, now has Jazz performances, each Friday evening from 8- 10 p.m. in Romanos back Venetian patio. It's Roland Torikian on trumpet and Tyler Mitchel on bass. Look for Wednesday night live music too, with Bill and Mark.

    VIP Club members who operate El Viejo Topo, Cafe Teatro, Stirling Dickinson #28, Plaza Pueblito, Col. San Antonio, desire to make VIP Club members aware of their summer world music program. This weekend it's Sherele (Klezmer Music), La Qunta Esencia at 9 p.m. There will be two performances, each slightly different, Friday and Saturday, July 13-14 admission $150 pesos.      VIP Club Charter participating restaurant, Don Quiote, Pila Seca #55, wants the membership to know that each Sunday, at 2:30 p.m., there's live Folklorica performances at Don Quiote, renowned for their mouth watering pork ribs. Don Quiote will also begin evening music and dancing in the near future. Your club will make all aware of such when it kicks off sometime this month.

     VIP Club member and animal lover, Christine Foster reminds us about the SPA's main, summertime, fund raiser in the form of a Barn Bash, Saturday, July 14, from 4-8 p.m. The event will take place at Rancho Los Olivos with a horse show and purse dog race, a raffle, great food and music by Gil and Cartas. Tickets are $500 pesos and available at all the major mail centers here in town.
