Members: We have a slew of news. Your Club is in the
midst of signing up a few more establishments, Our more robust line up
will make Your VIP Club membership more valuable. For the sake of brevity this
VIP Club Newsflash will contain some events that are time sensitive yet we will
be sending out another News Flash this coming weekend with further updates and
some new participants and announcements, especially one about a new legalized
casino operation now here in town and another that includes a great deal at the
beach!
Your VIP Club Welcomes both of L'Invito's Pizza Parlors.
L'Invito fine pizza parlors are located at Ancha de
San
Antonio 32B, 154-6228 and the other on the corner of Calzada de la Luz
and Calzada de la Aurora 154-1000. With 100 peso purchase at either members can
take 10% off their bills. If ordering by telephone please tell the Pizza makers
you are a Club member and give them your VIP Club #.
Last Call: Any member who would like to participate
in our annual NCAA March Madness Basketball Tournament pool has to sign up by
12 noon, Thursday, March 15 at Bagel Café.
Petite Bar and Market Bistro Restaurant, Hernandez Macias
#95 will host an art opening for Matthieu Kuhn, Thursday, March 15 from 7-9p.m.
In addition Market Bistro desires the membership to know they have up graded
their menu. Some of the newer items on the menu are: Cold Soups: Gazpacho; Salads:
Market Bistro Salad, Breast of duck, cherry tomatoes, quail eggs, broccoli, green
beans, grilled nuts, xeres vinegar and walnut oil, Nicoise Salad, Fresh tuna,
anchovies, potatoes, tomatoes, hard egg, black olives green beans, wine vinegar,
olive oil; Appetizers: Foire gras, Pates de la casa, Burgondi Snails, Zucchini
and fresh cheeses Mille Feuille, zachini, "al dente" with fresh cheese,
chives, pine kernel; Beef: Tournedos Rossini with foie gras; Veal: Osso Buco;
Fish: Salmon papollote in holy leaves. As usual, members may take 15% off their
bills cash only.
VIP Club member Alan Gross will conduct a teaching course
that has to do with Theater Direction. The course will run for two consecutive
weekends, March 17-18 and March 24-25 starting at 11 a.m. Cost for the entire
course is $700 pesos. Gross, a trained actor, director and producer has many
years of experience. Anyone desiring to direct, act or write drama should find

Don't' forget Darla's sunset party out in the country,
Saturday, March 17. Bring a dish or bottle of wine. (Darla's Directions) take
Canal street, crossing the Caracol to the train station. Cross the railroad tracks
and go left down the hill over the cobblestone road. Drive straight and bear
to the right on the cobbles when the road forks to the left to San Miguel Viejo.
Toward th end of the cobblestone road, you'll see aan organic farm on your right,
you are almost there. The cobblestone road ends and turns to dirt, now you should
be able to see the house on the right above the cactus. The entry to the property
is on the right go about a block, and bear left and pass one cactus covered lot

Back to L'Invito: L'Invito, affiliates itself with an
organization called "Slow Food." Slow Food is an organization dedicated
to the raising of organicly grown and raised foods. Slow Food, in affiliation
with L'Invito, will host weekly Sunday BBQs with the first being March 18, 1 – 6
p.m. The event is titled "a day in the country" around the wooden
grill with lot of organic wine, Cheeses from Chichimequilla, Meats from Dolores
Hidalgo, Lamb and Vegetables from San Miguel. $170 pesos per person drinks not
included, at Silvia's Green Ranch, Carretera a Dolores Hidalgo Km. 5.3 across

25, at La Carpa. Doors open at 2 p.m. for what might be San Miguel's greatest
ever Country and Country Rock concert. The show starts at 3 p.m. Three major
stars are coming down to San Miguel for this event sponsored by Los Tejanos,
primarily Club Members: Linda McLaughlin, Steve Kelso and Keith Thompson. The
show titled, "San Miguel City Limits," features Patricia Vonne, Gary
P. Nunn and Darin Murphy with each performing separately.. Tickets; $150 pesos,
and can be had at La Carpa, Bagel Café, Border Crossings, La Conexion,
Romanos and Longhorn Smokehouse. VIP Club members get TWO FREE BEERS with their
ticket stubs and VIP Club Card.
