Your VIP Club welcomes AZAFRAN LOUNGE AND DESIGN RESTAURANT,
Hernandez Macias #97, 152-7482. Azafran's menu features Mediterranean cuisine
with many salmon and pasta dishes served in pleasant and tasteful atmosphere
with additional garden seating. They also have some low calorie dishes and desserts
that are sugar free. Azafran is open everyday, except Wednesdays, for lunch and
dinner. VIP Club members may take off 10% their bill when paying cash or using
credit card. Luis is your host.
VIP Club participating restaurant, L'Invito, affiliates
itself with an organization called "Slow Food." Slow Food is dedicated
to organically grown and raised foods. Slow Food, in affiliation with L'Invito,
will be host two events, one this Sunday, February 25, at L'Invito Restaurante,
from 2-7 p.m. and the other, Sunday, March, 3, 2-6 p.m. at Silvia's Green Ranch,
Carretera a Dolores Hidalgo, Km. 5.3, across from Candelaria.
This Sunday's event is titled, "Slow Food" Day
at L'Invito. The special menu consists of Mariscos and Pescados de Baja
California. First Course: Ceviche, Cocktail de Camaron, and a Sea Food
Salad. Main Course: Calamares con acelgas "en zimino," Huachinango
con papas y laurel en salsa de vino blanco and Pollo en trozos en caserola con
verduras del rancho. Dessert: Lemon Ice Cream with Strawberry Sauce. For this
special event the normal 20% discount at L' Invito will be waived, but a 10%
discount will be deducted from the $195 peso charge to the public and the same
discount goes for all beverages.
The March 3 event, coined, "A Day In The Country," is
a Slow Food meeting held around a wooden grill with with lots of organic wine
being served and the exquisite vista of San Miguel as a backdrop, There will
be a spread of Cheeses from, Chichimequilla, Meats, from Dolores Hidalgo, Shrimp
and vegetable brochettes and additional vegetables from San
Miguel de Allende. The cost for this outing is $250 pesos and VIP Club
Members may take 10% of the tab. For additional information for either event

VIP Club members and local residents, Eva Hunter and
Jo Brenzo, have teamed up and created a Literary, nonfiction/art photography
book titled, "Lord of The Dolls: Voyage in Xochimilco." Eva is a widely-published
and award-winning writer. Jo Brenzo is an art photographer and teacher of the
craft. Eva will read from the book this Sunday, February 24, at 6 p.m. at the
Real de Minas Hotel, during the book's official release, in conjunction with
the Second Annual Writers Conference. Admission, 50 pesos, kudos to Eva and Jo!
Limerick Pub, on Umaran, a VIP Club participating restaurant
wants the membership to know that each Tuesday, jazz drummer Cody Moffet, from New
York City, and his hot jazz trio, "Jambalaya," play from 9 p.m.
until midnight.
VIP Club Member, Karen Wight, has a one person exhibition
titled "ECHO" on display at the YAM Gallery until the 6th of
March. She is presenting her exciting figurative bronze and resin sculptures,
paintings and fine silver jewelry. The Yam Gallery, a VIP Club participating
establishment, is located inside Instituto Allende.
VIP Club Member, Gordon Logan, has begun, Logan Construction
Consulting, a professional service, assisting foreigners who have purchased property
and are beginning construction or doing major remodeling and who may not be in
town to oversee their projects. LCC will act as an "Owners Representative," meeting
with architects/contractors and monitor work in progress in absence of the owners.

VIP Club member, Mayer Shacter, has opened Galeria Atotonilco.
His gallery features Exceptional Mexican Country Antiques-Vintage Textiles-Folk
